Veterinary Pathology

The sound knowledge of etiology and diagnosis of disease is must for treatment and prevention of various animals in livestock and poultry. The mandate of the department is to teach pathology of disease progression and practical training for identification of gross lesions on post-mortem examination, microscopic and histological changes for diagnosis of various diseases.

The Department is well equipped and offers some of best quality facilities for teaching under graduate classes including for tissue processing, histopathology, clinical pathology for testing clinical samples of various body fluids and also has facility for post-mortem examination of large and small animals. There are museum having specimens depicting gross lesions of various animals diseases & poultry diseases, Various instruments available in department includes semi automated rotary microtome, Spectrophotometer, binocular microscopes, water bath laminar flow, Autopsy table, Phase contrast microscope, cryostat and also facility of microscopes with attached digital cameras of high resolutions for displaying histopathological slides and with microphotography.
